I agree with all of the above. I'd be inclined to junk it as soon as
we get to merge a patchset to support stable xdg-shell; I don't have
any massive objections to scrapping v5 support before that, as
everyone should've moved on, but it might penalise people using old
clients in their kiosks/STBs/cars/whatever for no benefit.

No, toytoolkit is never a reason.
