Hi Ilia,

I know I'm a bit late for these two patches, but the idea sounds good
to me. If you still care about these, I would welcome you to submit
refreshed versions via Gitlab. I can't promise anything about a new
submission, but I am pretty sure these are forgotten otherwise.
