What is bad about it that it needs the entire ecosystem of apps, toolkits
to adapt to a new protocol/API etc. ? Remember that moving an entire ecosystem
is a mammoth job of getting buy-in from a critical mass of players - you cannot
force it on them. The fact that Wayland has gotten to where it is now is quite
an amazing job in this regard.
