That sounds like the issue is not using the StatusNotifierItem[1] specification. <br>
The old XEmbed system tray protocol is not expected to work on Wayland. I <br>
don't know if xembedsniproxy works on Wayland, actually. It's running on my <br>
machine but I don't know if anything is using it.<br>

So turning the question back to Bruce: have your applications been updated to <br>
use the SNI protocol? It's over 10 years old now.<br>
