Sweet! I dist-upgraded to your bits on my laptop today (I must be crazy)
and everything seems fine. I'm using gdm, KDE, Konq, Evolution, and a
handful of other apps without problems. I'm currently running the
non-XCB-based Xlib though.

APT doesn't seem to like having one Release file for both sources and
binaries. It downloads it twice, then tries to move it from
lists/partial/ to lists/ twice, and warns about the failure the second
time.

Otherwise I see no problems here. Nice work!
