Hmmm...
As long as Xlib owns the event queue, the Xlib/XCB implementation of XIM
should continue to work. But since I assume you're converting Gdk
entirely to using XCB's event queue, I guess Matthias' advice is right,
at least until somebody implements input methods for XCB.
