Imho modifying the xml tree while initializing the objects is more clean
than injecting fields by adding objects while resolving the object
hierarchy (as it's done atm. to add the header fields). I may change the
way the header fields get injected to this technique, too. If no one has
something against it per se.

Additionally, I'll try if I can solve the "nested list problem" this
way: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xcb/2013-January/008077.html
