Hi,
    I posted on this mailing list a few months ago with some of my 
thoughts along these lines, well, a link to them anyway. I'm not finding 
any time to actually work on anything for this so I'm not in a great 
place to dictate what I'd like to see in this sort of program/daemon but 
I'll just give you the URL and consider that my two penn'th worth.
