Trash can

Hello,

Is there a standard, or a plan for a standard, for a Recycle Bin or
Trash Can?

If not - perhaps one could be conceived?

Background: I would like to make a 'generic' implementation of it, so it
could be used outside Gnome or KDE. But I but would prefer to use it in
a compatible manner. Of course I can just get the Gnome or KDE code, but
a common standard would, IMHO, be better.
