Can't compile HAL from cvs

I just checked out a fresh copy and it builds nicely on my system - I'm
using ac 2.59 and am 1.7.9 on debian ppc unstable/testing. Note that
there have been no commits since tuesday the 20th - I think that you
might be doing something wrong locally on your system.
