Associating programs with file types

OK, I've added a new section with three entries at present:

- MIME run actions (deciding which application should be used to open a
  file)

- Shared configuration system (a desktop-neutral replacement for gconf and
  similar)

- Shared default keyboard shortcuts (every application running should use
  the same keys for Save, Quit, etc)


If people want to search the archives and insert helpful links and
background information, please go ahead!
