I have been running some tests scripts on all of kde's desktop files which you
can find here: I have been making some test scripts that I run against KDE.
I run the validate desktop file tool on all of kde's desktop files and the
report is here (minus some stuff I parse out):

 http://www.icefox.net/kde/tests/validatedesktop.html

A few things that come up.

Plugins, modules, etc don't have Type= because there doesn't seem to be an
option for that. Maybe adding Type=Plugin?

Also Type=XSession which kdm uses might be a good thing to have for other
 login managers?

DocPath, someone said that although the tool says to change to X-DocPath
eventually it will become part of the standard. Is this true?
