Icon lookup

Hello list,

How/where is an icon in an icon theme is to be named/placed if the
.desktop file looks like this:

gnome-database-properties:

Icon=libgnomedb/gnome-db.png
Exec=gnome-database-properties

Naming the icon "gnome-db.png" and putting it in the apps/ folder does
not replace the icon when the theme is applied (neither does if it's put
in apps/libgnomedb).
Is this .desktop file not conforming the standards?
