Yes, that is a concern. Presumably it would be possible to freeze the 
libnotify interface though, as that doesn't expose any details of DBUS. 
Then you only have to worry about instability if you talk to the server 
at the protocol level.

Still, the DBUS todo still seems very large ... I wonder how long it 
will be until it's stable.
