But that's irrelevant because we already have GConf and KConfig, which
are currently better than Elektra. We aren't going to downgrade what we
have just to get a common system. The common system has to be an
upgrade.
If it was common system vs. nothing, then you'd be right; we could
ignore my futuristic ideas and just use what someone wrote. But we are
comparing to existing, working systems - and the point of my suggestions
is to tell people how to _improve on_ the existing GConf system to offer
something better.
If people ignore the suggestions and write something worse, then that's
great, but we aren't going to use it.
