Suggestion for name specification for extra drive and media icons

"Red circle with X in it" where X is a random pictograph does not tend
to be the best metaphor for things, especially when it's a real world
object you're drawing an icon for.

As for the letters for types, we also do not wish to promote that, as it
is VERY difficult to do labels like that at smaller sizes (16x16), and
it basically removes the purpose of the icon. If you think the label
belongs on the icon, then the icon probably doesn't belong, and you
should be reading the text label next to it anyway. In this case, it is
probably simple enough to have a generic flash icon, and then the text
label describing the actual device, next to it in the UI.

For the specific types, one can just draw the real world objects.
For the generic type, though, we probably need something that closely
resembles the real world specific objects, but isn't simply any of
them. It's really up to the themes themselves at that point though.

For Tango and GNOME, we will probably do something similar to what I
just suggested.
