The icon theme name should be available as an XSetting, if your desktop
is running an X settings manager. See
http://standards.freedesktop.org/xsettings-spec/xsettings-spec-0.5.html
for the mechanism, and
http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Specifications/XSettingsRegistry
for registered settings.
