Meh.  I'm sorry, but I think you might be trolling at this point.  
Forgive me if you aren't and are honestly trying to be helpful.

You indicated in your earlier email that you would assume that a given 
application was installed if you were using a given distribution based 
on the default desktop environment.  That was not a valid assumption, 
but doesn't much matter.  The important point is that there is little 
uniformity. 

The part where you reminded me that Linux is a kernel and not an OS or 
desktop environment was especially unhelpful.  RMS preaches that so that 
you don't have to.

I'd like to get this discussion back on track if anyone is interested in 
talking about it.  Thank you.
