Well, the meaning of Name, as per Desktop Entry Spec is

   Specific name of the application, for example "Mozilla".

while GenericName is

   Generic name of the application, for example "Web Browser".

The GNOME habit to use "Mozilla Web Browser" as Name was/is wrong, at
lease debatable.
