Partition of home trash directory vs partition of home directory

It's not clear from trash spec what to do if home trash directory is not on
the same partition as home directory itself. Still move files to home trash
directory (which depends on XDG_DATA_HOME) or first try topdir for
partition where the user's home directory resides?
