I'd be inclined not to use restype for po files : looking at the
possible options, it's got the potential to confuse translation tools.
(eg. who's to say that the po message being wrapped doesn't in fact
represent a tool-tip text, a button label, radio button etc.)
Setting all res-types as "string" for po files doesn't really help
anyone, unless we had some fancy way of determining what the msgid
actually refers to. Just my thoughts on it anyway... The restype
attribute is a bit crap imho - very win32 biased :-)
