This depends on how you do the checkout. If you do it in the 'prune empty
directories mode' '-P' then you don't get to see them.
Therefore it may be a good idea to first provide a proof with an
implementation on a branch. From there you can convince people much
more easily that moving this pice out of Xprint into a central place
is for the benefit of everyone.
