Does MacOSX have something like Solaris's "truss" or "strace" ?
My first bet would be that something is wrong with the encodings support (e.g.
the stuff in the *.enc files and encodings.dir). While doing tests with Xprt I
can see that fonts with buildin encodings (*iso8859-1) are downloaded properly
but TrueType fonts with the "jisx0201.1976-0" encoding cannot be opened.
Unfortunately the damn font code in xc/lib/fonts/ doesn't print any errors in
such cases to something like "truss" is required... ;-(
BTW: All the dirs listed above exist on "lamancha" and should be readable by
everyone...
