Roughly the same happens with:

vmware -v
VMware Workstation 4.5.2 build-8848

Intsalled FC2 (almost fresh install)
It comes with X from X.org

I suspected X, so I have built X from
sources (xfree86.org) but it still happens (the hang)

Maybe it's vmware's bug?
