Summary: Switching mouse buttons causes duplicate mouse events
           Product: xorg
           Version: 6.8.0
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: major
          Priority: P2
         Component: Input/Mouse
        AssignedTo: xorg-bugzilla-noise at freedesktop.org
        ReportedBy: simon at skrede.no

I'm using an USB mouse as my CorePointer. Driver = 'mouse', Protocol = 'auto'.
If I run 'xmodmap -e "pointer = 3 2 1 4 5"', all mouse buttons will start to
send duplicate events (I verify this with 'xev'), i.e. for each press of the
mouse button, two events are generated. One event is with the correctly mapped
button, and one event with the mouse button as it was before the xmodmap
command. This makes the mouse unusable. Switching back to pointer = 1 2 3 4 5"
cures the problem, but the mouse is now of course right-handed. This works as
expected in XFree86 4.3.0, but not in any of the xorg releases, up to 6.8.0
which is the latest I have tested.
