Exactly the same problem here, with the latest ubuntu build of xorg:

X Window System Version 6.8.1.902 (6.8.2 RC 2) (Ubuntu 6.8.1-1ubuntu16

My Savage IX is attached to a Philips 107T crt display, and using Option
"UseBios" "true" and/or Option "CrtOnly" "true" don´t make any difference,
although it doesn't look broken, just the usual way, but always fixed to 640x480.
