Summary: If a composite manager (xcompmgr, kompmgr...) is
enabled, kopete makes X server crashing
Product: xorg
Version: 6.8.2
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Server/general
AssignedTo: xorg-bugzilla-noise at freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: pied at fnux.org
Hi
Since the release of X.org 6.8, I'm having fun with the composite extension !
That stuff is just good :)
And since a few months, I'm using KDE 3.4 CVS and it provides a Composite
manager (named kompmgr). But since my first experiments with Composite, I've a
quite serious bug with Kopete.
If a contact speaks when "its" conversation window is closed, kopete shows a
baloon with the contact name, the beginning of what he says and two buttons
"Read" and "Ignore". But when you click on the Read button, if kompmgr or
xcompmgr is started, then your X server crashes !
I reported the bug to the KDE folks, but they said me to report that here...
The report on bugs.kde.org : http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100020
Thanks
