[Bug 2242] when starting xorg all lines on the virtual consoles are split so that the bottom disappeares beneath the screen

To be more exact an empty line is inserted after each original line. So only
upper half of the screen is visible. 
I've just installed slacware 10.0. It happens on different machines with
different video cards.
