Ah, now I see the improvements; it's not so much the speed but the
responsiveness for me. Now I can move a window with xcompmgr running, and not
have it interrupt an MP3 playing in the background. I don't even have to change
the X server priority like I mentioned earlier. I guess it's because the DMA
transfers free up the CPU.
