for reasons unknown, this problem has actually got worse for me.
Now, uncommenting the Screen line and restarting X doesn't fire up the 2nd
monitor. It's totally dead no matter I do.  It also seems that only cloned mode
actually does something now. Worse still, the head I do get a display on doesn't
seem to have a mouse pointer.
