Summary: default host-based access control settings
           Product: xorg
           Version: 6.8.2
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Server/general
        AssignedTo: xorg-bugzilla-noise at freedesktop.org
        ReportedBy: cheepeero at msn.com

I'm trying to configure the X server to use host-based access control rules
from /etc/X0.hosts. The contents is a single line, namely "local:".

After startup the server won't accept seemingly valid connections; I see this
in the log:

AUDIT: Mon Mar 14 03:05:16 2005: 24265 X: client 30 rejected from local host

Issuing xhost here gives:

access control enabled, only authorized clients can connect
LOCAL:

After typing "xhost + local:" in a terminal in X the same access rules are
reported by xhost, only the applications now do work.

What exactly isn't working... I've got "/usr/bin/irexec /etc/lircrc"started
from an initscript, next when pressing some button the following is executed:
"/bin/ps -C xawtv && /bin/killall xawtv || /usr/bin/xawtv -f -display :0 &"

Please mail me if you need more info; I won't be monitoring this since I've
already found a workaround. Also mail me if it gets fixed :-)
