I've just disabled RenderAccel and enabled DRI in my "6.8.2 over Ubuntu 4.3.99"
install, and run glxgears. It locked up after 2 minutes - no keyboard or "X
windows" response eg. window manager etc., however, the cursor still moved
around, and my ACPI shutdown via the power button worked.

I can re-run the test in the "vanilla" X.org 6.8.2 environment I mentioned
before, if that would be useful. I thought running it in the above configuration
might be slightly more useful, at least to me, as that is how I'd like to be
using X.org.
