I've scooped up the other patches in this set, but I'm not sure about this one.

XWin is the only DDX which uses DDXBEFORERESET and it was added for our 
benefit, but this is not very elegant. I think I'm going to need another, 
similar hook for work I'm doing to use the native WGL implementation for 
AIGLX, so I am looking into a different way of doing this.
