You can continue to use that version of xserver if you want.

But, like I said, kdrive as a hardware server is destined to die.  I
strongly suspect that it'll get renamed to hw/xephyr before the year is
out.  The _only_ reason to prefer kdrive to Xorg at this point is a very
modest amount of memory usage that's basically a fixed overhead, which
we're working to eliminate.  Runtime usage varies pretty much
identically between the two.

So in the future, don't expect to use kdrive.  Use Xorg+evdev+fbdev.
