that's what this list is for. so we have one place to look up what's needed
instead of grepping over configure for every library.
why not add LIBXFONT="xfont >= 1.4.2" and move REQUIRED_LIBS down until
after all the LIB*? and optionally REQUIRED_MODULES so they stay together.
then REQUIRED_LIBS is simply "$LIBXFONT xau"
