Argh. I'm pretty sure we shouldn't be removing files in our 'make
install' phase. I haven't noticed any ill effects from having both fdi
and xorg.conf files installed, and presumably a competent distribution
would manage removing the fdi files correctly.

None of this is really encouraging me to use udev by default at this
point :-)
