Dynamic Plug and unplug of display link devices

Hi,

I have heard of display link usb to vga adaptor working with X. I have some 
doubt regarding the usage. If i dynamically plug in or un plug the usb from the 
port will X recognize and do things accordingly? like it is done in Windows OS.
