At first,  I wanted to backport AC_PATH_PROGS_FEATURE_CHECK  as I didn't
want to depend upon Autoconf 2.62,  not because of GPLv3, but because it
was not widely  adopted by vendors at that time, but  I didn't have time
to do it.

Good point,  personally I  have nothing against  the GPLv3,  but perhaps
it's better to have that talk now rather than backporting...
