I don't think anybody implied or said that this is a *needed* change,
so I wouldn't want to defend a position that was never taken nor
implied. Instead of started a potentially long, meandering thread
about whether or not a rename would be nice, I started instead with
the patch, but I never meant to imply I thought this was something
that was needed.

- "build.sh" is rather generic
- most people are dropping (or never liked) the ".sh" at the end of scripts
- most executables from this project start with either "x" or "xorg"

This project appears to be in a bit of a "cleanup" mode (e.g. let's
consider and apply a coding style) so I thought it would be a good
time to consider a rename of this script.

If you're not in favour of this change would it be because of the
timing, or would you never be in favour of this change?
