[PATCH 0/8] Make rootless less special

The rootless code currently has conditionals scattered about in what
ought to be generic code.  That's pretty lame.  This series fixes that.

The only change I'm not entirely sure of is the fb bit, as I'm only
fairly sure that only rootless is mangling those values in clever ways
for pixmaps.  Having said that, it's entirely possible that we could
simplify they whole x/y versus screen_x/screen_y thing too now.
