Hi there!
Some time ago, I've written about my plans to port latest Xephyr graphical
improvements to xf86-video-nested, mainly for single-GPU multiseat
purposes. Now I realised that maintaining a driver is beyond my
capabilities, and I'd like to try another approach: implement the missing
parts in Xephyr for full multiseat compliance.
One important piece was released in version 1.17, closing historical (and
controversal) bug #12221:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12221
The other important piece is providing input hotplugging support for
Xephyr. There are 2 bugs still open that covers this subject:
Xephyr doesn't update evdev keyboard LEDs
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22302
evdev USB input devices which get briefly disconnected become unusable in
kdrive/Xephyr
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33140
Moreover, Xephyr should gain -seat option support to automatically grab
input devices by seat. I already have an algorithm in
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-multiseat/multi-seat-xephyr/trunk/view/139/multi-seat-xephyr.c
that builds -keybd and -mouse command line options for Xephyr automatically
for devices assigned to a given seat, and I could port it to kdrive
directly.
The two open bugs cited above are quite old, so if someone have something
new to say about them, I would be of great help for me.
Thanks in advance!
