That's not a custom hack - that's a known issue even in the R6.7.0 release.
If your OS file has HasFreetype2 YES, but your freetype2 is too old, it won't
build without the above.   Until someone fixes that issue, the above line is
the only way to make sure the rest of the build works on the OS.
