How do I disable automatic X11 startup on Fedora Core 2?

We have a graphical utility gizmo that does this somewhere I think, but
I've no idea what it is.  ;o)

I just edit /etc/inittab by hand and change initdefault from 5 to 3,
which is all a GUI tool would be doing.  Then run "init -q" afterward.
