Home built 6.8.1 worked just fine here Dave (except for the sluggish
glxgears which I now think is a kernel problem), till yum crashed the
party and installed all this last night:

which of course meant I was dead in the water the instant I tried to
reboot. Needless to say, the automatic yum is gone... Banished.

Ok, how do I restore that? Or do I revert to amrecover? Wait, you
said /etc/init.d/xfs, and it doesn't exist now. Gone. Totally.
Installing 6.8.1 doesn't restore it, I've done that about 4 times
today.

Humm, I have amanda running here, so I should be able to get that
back...

This is an FC2 box, but it wasn't a bare metal install, its an upgrade
from RH8.0. What all do I need to suck back out of amanda's backup
cache?, I'm using virtual tapes so it shouldn't be too hard. I just
need a list of what to pull up again.
