Thanks, GNOME with xcompmgr is mostly fixed now, but I still get very
bad artifacts with KDE 3.4. The global alpha value of non-opaque windows
seems more or less random there now; I can only seem to reproduce a
similar effect with GNOME/xcompmgr by moving a translucent window out of
the left edge of the screen, so it seems to be related to clipping.
On a brighter note, software compositing performance seems comparable to
Mac OS X now, looking forward to Altivec optimizations. :)
