One more issue. I would like to save some time by skipping some checks
inside my PrepareXXX() routines.
1) Do I have to check if the planemask is set to something other than
"all ones" for the respective depth?
2) Do I have to check if the bpp of the src/dst pixmaps are of the
supported kind (8, 16, 32 mostly)?
3) Will the src and dst pixmaps for copy() always be of same format
(=bpp, depth)?
