The cs5535 is functional with the nsc_drv code. I use Xorg 6.7 with
CS5535 gfx and at least 800x600x24bit works fine. I haven't looked at
the AMD Xorg driver tarball in detail, but the last time that I looked
in early 2005, I think it was identical to the NSC code with
s/nsc/amd/.
