( OK... so here's my problem )

Gentlemen,

I seem to have an DRI problem...

First, please, let me say that I appreciate all of the
work that has been done... you "guys" are incredible.
I've been following the development of Xorg-6.9 with
passionate fervor. I've even tried to install the CVS
Xorg from time-to-time... when the populace has
success with it, the "vibes" are right ...and I have
the time.

...It _ALWAYS_ fails ( I'm lucky to still have a
working Linux OS ).

Backing up a bit...here is my long tangled story... I
purchased an ATI card ( 9600XT ), and expected to be
able to grab my favorite Perry Mason episodes...

No such luck. Grappled with the GATOS project's
bastardly deficient documentation ( but I found my way
around ).

Found my way over to the Xorg CVS... ( and then I had
to grapple with YOUR bastardly deficient documentation
).

However, EVERY TIME that I try again, I end up with ;
<snip>
(II) Loading
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/multimedia/theatre200_drv.so
(II) Module theatre200: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
	compiled for 4.3.99.902, module version = 1.0.0
	ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 0.7
(II) RADEON(0): Microcode: Use default microcode path:
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/multimedia/rt2_pmem.bin
(II) RADEON(0): Microcode: Use default microcode type:
BINARY
(EE) RADEON(0): Microcode: cannot load microcode
(II) RADEON(0): Rage Theatre disabled
(WW) RADEON(0): Direct rendering disabled
<snip>

...whether it's SuSE, Mandriva, or FC4, it is always
the same... I've learned so much, but...

I just really wanted to make my ( BASTARD!!) ATI
card's tuner work in Linux...

OK, so here's my problem...

is seeking ( excuse my vulgar language, but i am so
sick of bad documention and expert-know-it-alls that
