Hello everybody,
I just upgraded openSuSE Linux 10.0 to 10.1 to find any last-minute bugs on
the new (as yet in release candidate state) distribution and found that my
notebook's i855GM graphics card wouldn't operate in accellerated mode any
more. It did this fine with X.org 6.8.
I reported this to Novell at
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=168618 where you can also get
my hardware info, Xorg.0.log and configuration:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=79610&action=view
(Xorg.0.log)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=79680&action=view (hwinfo
output, hardware information)
Vendor: pci 0x8086 "Intel Corporation"
Device: pci 0x3582 "855 GM"
SubVendor: pci 0x1584 "Uniwill Computer Corp"
SubDevice: pci 0x9500
I would like to know whether this has been fixed in more recent releases or
if there is another way I can resolve this. Also, is there a way to
recompile a newer (CVS/git?) Version of the i810 driver without having to
recompile all of X.org? I'd like to try the newest release to see whether
the problem is still there.
Thanks to all of you,
Jens
