You should keep in mind there are some regressions in 6.5.1-rc1,
e.g. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8010
You'll know if the earlier 6.5 is not sufficient for Xorg since the
build will halt at the configure stage, saying that such-and-such a file
from mesa could not be found (meaning a file added later to mesa is
expected to be there).
